The SoundNex Association is a non-profit organization based in Austria, dedicated to the cultural promotion of musicians and composers. Our primary objective is to create a digital space where musical works, lyrics, and visual art can be preserved and presented to a global public.
As part of our statutory duties, the association maintains a public directory for its members. This register serves as a professional reference for artists, allowing them to document their creative journey and reach an international audience through our multi-lingual platform.
Cultural & Journalistic Mission
At the heart of SoundNex is the belief that music requires profound context. We focus on the creation of high-quality journalistic documentation for the songs submitted by our members. These reviews are not mere advertisements; they are analytical pieces that examine the harmony, lyrics, and production of a work.
To ensure global accessibility and cultural exchange, these documentations are made available in 12 different languages. This reflects our commitment to bringing local talent to the international stage while fostering a deeper understanding of musical diversity.
Furthermore, members of the association benefit from additional support services, such as inclusion in curated Spotify playlists, aimed at increasing the visibility of independent art.
Franz Habegger is an Austrian author and founder of the SoundNex Association. Over the course of his career, he has published eight non-fiction books and written numerous articles, website publications, and editorial contributions across a wide range of topics.
Music has been a constant companion throughout his life. As an active musician who plays drums, guitar, and keyboard, Franz approaches music not only as a listener and writer, but also from the perspective of a performer and composer. This unique combination allows him to analyze songs from both a technical and emotional standpoint.
In April 2026, he founded the SoundNex Association with the goal of giving independent artists greater visibility through professional reviews and editorial coverage. Despite being a young initiative, SoundNex has already collaborated with numerous artists from multiple countries, publishing detailed reviews and feature articles that explore songwriting, production, lyrics, and artistic vision.
Franz believes that every song has a story worth telling. Through SoundNex, he aims to provide thoughtful, honest, and well-researched music journalism that highlights not only the music itself, but also the creativity, dedication, and passion behind it.
Franz Habegger also contributes on a voluntary basis to the independent music magazine Medienkonverter.de, where he publishes articles and reviews covering electronic, industrial and alternative music.
